Our verdict
The strongest on-chain AI agent we have tested on paper: deep smart-money data, broad chain coverage, a non-custodial wallet and a reasonable Pro price. It loses points because accuracy is undocumented, the free tier is thin outside Solana, and chat-to-trade makes impulsive mistakes very easy.
Best for: Active on-chain traders and analysts who want wallet intelligence and execution in one place, and who verify before they click confirm.
Key takeaways
- Nansen AI answers wallet and token questions from 500M+ labelled addresses, then executes spot or perps trades in the same conversation.
- Free includes 20 agent credits a week. Pro is $69/mo monthly or $49/mo yearly with 2,000 credits a week.
- Trades route through Jupiter, OKX and LI.FI. The mobile app uses a Privy non-custodial wallet.
- Nansen has published no accuracy benchmarks. Treat answers as research leads, and confirm every order yourself.
Nansen AI is what Nansen, the wallet-labelling company, turned into. The site now reads "Trade Everything Onchain with AI", and the product centres on an agent you talk to. This review covers what that agent actually does, what it costs in plans and credits, how trades are executed, and where the risks of trading through a chat window sit.
Everything here was checked on Nansen's own pages and docs on 21 October 2026, plus launch coverage from Axios and Decrypt. We did not run long-term trading tests, and nobody can verify the agent's forecasting claims, including Nansen.

What Nansen AI is
For years Nansen's value was its labels: it attaches names and categories to wallet addresses, such as funds, exchanges, market makers and "Smart Money" wallets with strong historical performance. Analysts used dashboards to see which of those wallets were buying what. Nansen AI puts a language-model agent on top of that dataset, so instead of building a dashboard you ask a question in plain English.
Typical questions are things like "why is this token up 40% today?", "which smart-money wallets bought this in the last week?" or "what is this whale doing across chains?". The agent pulls labelled flows, holder changes and PnL data and writes an answer. If you like the answer, you can tell it to buy, sell or open a perps position, and it prepares the trade.
From research chatbot to trading agent
Nansen AI launched on 25 September 2025, according to an Axios report that day. Launch coverage described a conversational assistant built on Anthropic's Claude and trained on Nansen's data, with trading features promised for later. Axios also reported that the lowest monthly plan dropped from $99 to $69 at launch. Cointelegraph quoted Nansen saying the agent would prepare orders and users would confirm before anything executed.
By October 2026 the trading part is live on Nansen's homepage: spot and perps via the agent or a terminal, plus a mobile app with its own wallet. Decrypt's launch piece raised a fair criticism that still applies: Nansen has not published a technical paper, accuracy figures or adversarial testing results for the agent. Claims that it outperforms general models on crypto questions remain the company's own.
How the AI actually works
It helps to separate two layers. The data layer is Nansen's real moat: years of address labelling, entity clustering and PnL tracking across chains. That part is not generative AI; it is curated analytics. The agent layer is a language model that turns your question into data queries, reads the results and explains them, and can call trading tools when you ask.
This combination is why Nansen AI earns our "AI agent" label rather than "LLM assistant". It does not just chat; it acts. It is also why the answers can be very good and still wrong. A model can pick the wrong time window, over-weight a single wallet, or describe correlation as cause. The labels are only as current as Nansen's last update, and smart-money wallets are watched by thousands of other traders, so a signal you read in chat may already be priced in.
Features worth knowing
AI agent
Research questions on wallets, tokens and flows, with trading tools in the same thread. Uses weekly agent credits.
Trading terminal
Spot and perps trading outside the chat, with routing through Jupiter, OKX and LI.FI. Points and tiers reduce fees, per the homepage.
Smart alerts and portfolios
Free gets one active smart alert; Pro gets unlimited alerts and portfolios, subject to fair-use limits.
API and MCP
Credit-based API with an agent endpoint and prediction-market endpoints. MCP connectors bring Nansen data into ChatGPT, Claude and Grok.
Pricing, credits and the API
Nansen simplified its pricing to one paid plan. There is no Enterprise or Institutional tier listed any more.
| Plan | Price | Agent credits | Key inclusions | Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 20 / week | Spot and perps trading, basic labels, full Solana analytics, portfolio tracking, 1 smart alert | |
| Pro (monthly) | $69/mo | 2,000 / week | All chains, full PnL and Smart Money labels, unlimited portfolios and alerts, one-time API/MCP credits | |
| Pro (yearly) | $49/mo ($588/yr) | 2,000 / week | Same as Pro monthly, fair-use limits apply |
The API is billed separately in credits: $10 buys 10,000 credits, with bulk discounts above 5 million. Value scores in the table are our editorial view of what each plan delivers for its price. If you only research Solana tokens occasionally, Free is genuinely useful. For anything multi-chain, Pro is the real product, and the yearly price is fair for the depth of data compared with institutional on-chain tools.
Chain coverage
The API covers 38 chains: 24 EVM networks and 14 non-EVM ones, including Bitcoin, Solana, TON, Tron, SUI, Hyperliquid (for perps), Monad and Robinhood Chain, per Nansen's docs in October 2026. Do not assume coverage depth is equal across all of them: Solana gets full analytics even on Free, while other chains need Pro, and label density naturally varies with how much activity a chain has. If you trade a smaller chain, test a few questions before paying, and check that the wallets you care about are actually labelled.
Custody, execution and the risks of trading via chat
On custody, Nansen made the safer choice. The mobile app uses a Privy non-custodial wallet, so Nansen does not hold your funds the way an exchange does. Trades route through established aggregators and venues (Jupiter, OKX and LI.FI) rather than an in-house order book.
The real risks are behavioural and technical:
- Speed over judgement. Going from "why is this pumping?" to "buy it" in one thread removes the pause in which most bad trades get cancelled.
- Model errors. A misread ticker, wrong chain or misunderstood amount can become an irreversible on-chain transaction. Read every confirmation screen.
- Crowded signals. Smart-money tracking is popular. By the time a flow is visible and explained, faster traders may be exiting.
- Perps leverage. Perpetual futures can liquidate you quickly. An agent placing leveraged trades on vague instructions is a recipe for losses.
- Availability. Trading features may be restricted in some regions. Check the terms for your country.
Complaints and reviews
On 21 October 2026 Nansen had a TrustScore of 3.6 out of 5 from 15 reviews on Trustpilot. That is a small and polarised sample: 53% five-star and 40% one-star, with nothing in between. The negative reviews mostly describe billing and cancellation problems, such as charges after cancelling and difficulty finding how to cancel, plus slow support. A couple concern airdrop points and allocations rather than the analytics product. Trustpilot notes the company has not invited reviews recently and has not replied to negative ones, and it shows its "may be associated with high-risk investments" flag. Trustpilot does not fact-check reviews.
Practical takeaway: if you subscribe monthly, note the renewal date and cancel from account settings well before it, and keep the confirmation email.

- Billing and cancellation complaints on Trustpilot
Who Nansen AI suits
It suits active on-chain traders who already think in wallets and flows, analysts who want quick answers without writing SQL, and people building their own AI workflows who want Nansen data inside Claude or ChatGPT via MCP. It is less useful for long-term BTC holders, who get more from cycle metrics, or for traders who mainly want social sentiment, where LunarCrush and Santiment are stronger. Research on-chain with AI. Hold the core on a regulated exchange.
Nansen AI is built for fast, on-chain trades from a self-custody wallet. Many traders split their setup: a small agent wallet for experiments and a regulated account for buying and holding the core. CEX.IO has operated since 2013 and is a FinCEN-registered MSB with money transmitter licences in 39 US states plus DC, and FCA-registered in the UK.
Registrations checked October 2026 on the company's legal pages. Availability depends on your country; crypto is high-risk.

How to start with Nansen AI safely
Start on Free
Use the 20 weekly agent credits to test questions on tokens you already know well. Judge the answers against what you can verify.
Ask for sources every time
Have the agent list wallets, transactions and time windows. Spot-check them on a block explorer.
Upgrade only for multi-chain work
If you need chains beyond Solana or full Smart Money labels, Pro yearly is the cheaper path. Note the renewal date.
Fund a separate trading wallet
Keep only a capped budget in the Privy wallet. Long-term holdings stay elsewhere.
Avoid leverage at first
Practise with small spot trades before any perps. Read every confirmation, especially token address and chain.
Final verdict
Nansen AI deserves its 4.4. The underlying data is the best of its kind, the agent turns it into something a non-analyst can use, and the non-custodial design is the right call. Pro at $49 a month on yearly billing is fair value for anyone who trades on-chain regularly.
Hold back from the full score for three reasons: no published evidence of the agent's accuracy, a free tier that is mostly a Solana trial, and a chat-to-trade flow that makes it dangerously easy to act on an answer you have not checked. Use Nansen AI as the sharpest research assistant in on-chain crypto, and keep the trade button for decisions you would make without it. For more research tools, browse our AI crypto analytics hub.
Frequently asked questions
What is Nansen AI?
Nansen AI is the current name and product of Nansen, the on-chain analytics company known for wallet labels. Its core is an AI agent that answers questions about wallets, tokens and smart-money flows using Nansen's 500M+ labelled addresses, and can then place spot or perpetual futures trades in the same conversation. It also includes a trading terminal, a mobile app and an API.
How much does Nansen AI cost?
As of October 2026 there are two plans. Free costs nothing and includes 20 AI agent credits a week, basic labels and full Solana analytics. Pro costs $69 a month billed monthly, or $49 a month billed yearly ($588), with 2,000 agent credits a week and all chains. API usage is separate: $10 buys 10,000 credits.
Can Nansen AI trade for me automatically?
The agent can execute spot and perps trades from the chat, routed through Jupiter, OKX and LI.FI. At launch Nansen said the agent would prepare orders and the user would confirm before anything executes. Treat it as an assistant that proposes and places trades on your instruction, not as an autonomous fund manager, and check every order before approving it.
Is Nansen AI safe?
The mobile app uses a Privy non-custodial wallet, so Nansen does not hold your funds. The risks are different: an AI can misread a question, a smart-money signal can be stale by the time you act, and on-chain trades are irreversible. Keep only a trading budget in the connected wallet and verify token contract addresses yourself.
Is Nansen better than Arkham?
They overlap but lean different ways. Nansen is strongest for smart-money labels, PnL data and now an agent that ends in a trade. Arkham is strongest for entity attribution and visual investigations, and runs its own exchange. Many analysts use both. Our on-chain AI analytics comparison puts them side by side with Glassnode, Dune and CryptoQuant.
Which AI model does Nansen AI use?
Coverage of the September 2025 launch by Axios and Decrypt reported that the agent was built on Anthropic's Claude, combined with Nansen's own labelled data. Nansen has not published a technical paper or accuracy benchmarks, so claims that it beats general chatbots at crypto questions are vendor claims, not independently verified results.
Can I use Nansen data inside Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. Nansen offers MCP connectors for ChatGPT, Claude and Grok, plus an agent endpoint in its API. Pro includes one-time API and MCP credits. That lets you ask your usual AI model questions backed by Nansen data. See our AI model comparison for which model to pair with it.
