Bitget GetAgent is the most complete AI agent built into a big exchange today. Where most exchange assistants stop at explaining the market, GetAgent can go from a question ("what is driving ETH this week?") to analysis, to an order on your account, in the same conversation. Since December 2025 it has also offered something no other large exchange matched at the time: AI trading personas you can copy.

That makes it powerful and worth approaching with care. This review explains what Bitget GetAgent does, how its Bitget AI copy trading personas work, and the practical limits: an unverified track record, a pending MiCA licence and a long list of countries where Bitget does not operate. Facts come from Bitget announcements and independent coverage checked in October 2026. For context across 15 platforms, see our exchange AI matrix.

What Bitget GetAgent is

GetAgent is an AI trading assistant inside Bitget. It draws on market data, news and technical analysis and can execute trades, using a toolkit of more than 50 tools. Third-party coverage also describes "Playbooks", reusable workflows you can run again, and MCP-style tool access, though Bitget's own feature list is the reference for what is live in your account.

What makes it an agent rather than a chatbot is execution. GetAgent can place the trade it just reasoned about. That closes the gap between research and action, which is exactly where impulsive mistakes happen. The best way to use it is to keep the two steps mentally separate: let it research, then decide yourself. Our guide to AI crypto trading agents explains why agent execution needs firmer limits than a bot.

GetAgent plans and access

GetAgent launched invite-only on 1 July 2025 and opened to all Bitget users on 19 August 2025. There are three tiers: Free, Plus and Ultra. Bitget's announcements did not list prices or usage limits per tier, and we do not quote numbers we could not confirm, so check the plan page in the app.

Two cost points are worth keeping in mind. First, any trade GetAgent places pays normal Bitget trading fees, on top of the plan. Second, an assistant that makes trading easy tends to increase how often you trade. More trades mean more fees and more chances to be wrong. If you upgrade, use our bot ROI calculator to see what return your balance needs just to cover the subscription.

The six AI personas you can copy

On 1 December 2025 Bitget added six AI trading avatars to GetAgent. Each runs its own strategy, publishes its results against an unmodified DeepSeek model as a benchmark, and can be copied with one click. Bitget names them:

GetAgent AI personas (descriptions inferred from the names; read each persona's own page)

PersonaStyle suggested by the nameLikely fit
Steady HedgeHedged positioning aimed at lower volatilityCautious copiers
Majors MomentumMomentum on large-cap coinsTrend followers
Altcoin TurboAggressive altcoin exposureHigh risk tolerance only
CTA ForceSystematic trend rules in the style of CTA fundsRules-minded copiers
Infinite GridGrid-style trading through rangesSideways markets
Dip SniperBuying sharp dropsContrarians with stop discipline

We have not seen independent audits of these personas, and their histories are short, which is the main issue. Most strategies look good over a few months in a favourable market. The question is how they behave in a crash or a long chop. The DeepSeek benchmark is an interesting touch, because it tells you whether the persona adds anything over a plain model, but it is still Bitget measuring Bitget.

Five checks before you copy an AI persona

01

Look at maximum drawdown first

The worst peak-to-trough loss tells you more than the return. If you could not sit through that drop with real money, do not copy.

02

Check the record length

Anything under a year has not seen many market regimes. Personas launched in December 2025 have, at best, months of history.

03

Compare with the benchmark honestly

If a persona barely beats unmodified DeepSeek, or plain buy-and-hold, you are paying risk for little extra.

04

Know whether it uses leverage

Perp strategies can liquidate. Check margin mode and leverage before you allocate.

05

Allocate a fixed, small budget

Decide the amount you are willing to lose and set your own stop. Never top up a losing copy to "average down".

These are the same checks we apply to human traders. The AI label does not change the maths; it only changes who is making the decisions. If you want evidence on how language models trade with real money, the Alpha Arena results are the most honest public test so far, and most model runs lost.

Treat an AI persona like any trader you might copy: check drawdown, history and leverage first.

Using GetAgent safely

Because GetAgent can trade, the risk is not only bad analysis but fast, confident execution of bad analysis. A few habits help:

  • Keep execution in a separate account or sub-account with only the budget you want the agent to touch.
  • Ask it to state the plan before acting: entry, size, stop and the reason. If any part is vague, do not approve.
  • Avoid leverage until you have weeks of history with spot orders and know how the agent behaves.
  • Cross-check with an independent source. GetAgent is built by the venue that earns your fees. A quick look at independent sentiment tools or on-chain data keeps you honest.
  • Watch for fakes. Scammers often borrow the names of popular AI products. Only use GetAgent inside the official Bitget app or website.

Proof of reserves and MiCA status

Bitget publishes monthly proof of reserves using a SHA-256 Merkle tree, with a reserve ratio for each asset. It does not name an auditor, and when we checked the page in October 2026 it displayed placeholder data rather than the latest figures. You can still verify your own inclusion through the Merkle proof, which is the useful part for an individual user.

On regulation, Bitget is behind several peers. Bitget EU applied to Austria's Financial Market Authority for a MiCA licence; the application was announced on 17 June 2026 and confirmed on 2 July 2026. As of 20 October 2026 it was not on the ESMA register. By comparison, Bybit, KuCoin, Coinbase, Kraken, Crypto.com and Gate all hold MiCA authorisation. We found no reported hack of Bitget's exchange in our checks, though that is not a guarantee.

Where Bitget is not available

Bitget's terms, updated 15 September 2026, list a long set of prohibited regions. The ones readers ask about most:

RegionBitget statusWhat to consider instead
United StatesProhibitedUS-licensed exchanges; see Coinbase AI tools
CanadaProhibitedCheck Canadian-registered platforms
Austria, France, GermanyProhibitedMiCA-licensed exchanges such as Bybit EU
Japan, Singapore, ThailandProhibitedLocally licensed venues
Other countriesCheck the terms pageRead the current list before you sign up

Do not use a VPN to get around these restrictions. It breaks the terms, and an exchange can freeze an account it later identifies as being in a prohibited region, which is a bad place to be with open positions.

Outside Bitget's coverage? Keep your AI research, choose a licensed venue

If Bitget does not serve your country, you can still use independent AI tools for research and hold crypto on a regulated exchange. CEX.IO has run since 2013, holds money transmitter licences for 39 US states plus DC and is FCA-registered in the UK. It has no AI personas or bots, so it suits buying and holding rather than copy trading.

Registrations checked October 2026 on the company's legal pages. Availability depends on your country; crypto is high-risk.

  • 50+ tools and a usable Free tier
  • Copyable AI personas with a DeepSeek benchmark, which is more transparent than most
  • Monthly Merkle proof of reserves you can check yourself

Watch out for

  • Persona records are short and self-reported
  • Paid tier prices not clearly published outside the app

If Bitget is available where you live and you want to experiment with an AI that can act, Bitget GetAgent is the strongest exchange-native option, and Bitget AI copy trading is a genuinely new idea worth watching. Keep allocations small and treat the personas as experiments. If you would rather automate with your own rules, our list of the best AI crypto trading bots covers independent tools, and our beginner bots guide is a gentler start. Nothing here is financial advice.

Frequently asked questions

What is Bitget GetAgent?

GetAgent is Bitget's AI trading assistant. It pulls together market data, news and technical analysis, and it can also execute trades on your Bitget account, using more than 50 built-in tools. It opened to invited users on 1 July 2025 and to everyone on 19 August 2025.

Is GetAgent free?

There is a Free tier, plus paid Plus and Ultra tiers. Bitget did not publish tier prices or limits in the sources we checked, so look at the plan screen inside GetAgent for current pricing in your region. Trading fees on any orders are charged separately.

What are the Bitget AI trading personas?

Since 1 December 2025, GetAgent has offered six AI trading avatars you can copy with one click: Steady Hedge, Majors Momentum, Altcoin Turbo, CTA Force, Infinite Grid and Dip Sniper. Each publishes its performance against an unmodified DeepSeek benchmark. They are Bitget's own strategies, so the results are not independently audited.

Is Bitget AI copy trading safe?

It is as safe as the strategy you copy and the amount you allocate. The personas are new, so their records are short, and a strategy that looks great over a few months can draw down sharply. Copy with a small, fixed budget, set your own stop, and read our AI copy trading guide first.

Can I use Bitget in the US or the EU?

Not in the US. Bitget's terms (updated 15 September 2026) list the US, Canada, Japan, Singapore and Thailand as prohibited, along with EU countries including Austria, France and Germany. Bitget EU has applied for a MiCA licence in Austria but was not on the ESMA register as of 20 October 2026.

Does Bitget publish proof of reserves?

Yes. Bitget publishes monthly Merkle-tree proof of reserves (SHA-256) with a reserve ratio. The page does not name an auditor, and when we checked it showed placeholder data, so verify your own inclusion and the latest ratio yourself.

GetAgent or Binance AI Pro: which is better?

GetAgent is more of an all-in-one assistant with copyable personas; Binance AI Pro is a narrower agent that trades from a no-withdraw sub-account. Your country decides a lot: Bitget is unavailable in the US and several EU states, and Binance has restricted EU services since July 2026.
