Bitsgap Review

Bitsgap is the most polished all-round bot platform we track: grid, DCA and COMBO bots on 16 exchanges, a real free plan and strict API-key rules. The AI Assistant is useful, but Bitsgap does not explain how it works.

Our verdict

Well-built grid and DCA bots, broad exchange coverage, a free tier and the strictest API-key policy we have seen. Points lost for an AI Assistant with no published method and marketing that leans on return claims nobody can check.

Real AI 3.7
Security 4.6
Pricing transparency 4.2
Track record 4.2
Usability 4.4

Best for: Beginners and intermediates who want grid or DCA bots on a mainstream exchange, without coding.

Key takeaways

  • Bot types: GRID, DCA, BTD, LOOP, DCA Futures, COMBO and QFL, plus smart orders and a demo mode.
  • Pricing: Free / $29 / $69 / $149 a month, or $23 / $55 / $119 billed annually. 7-day Pro trial, no card.
  • Bitsgap automatically rejects API keys with withdrawals enabled, a real safety advantage.
  • The AI Assistant's method is undisclosed, and the "+20% vs manual trading" claim is not independently verifiable.

This Bitsgap review is for people who want a trading bot that works on the exchange they already use, without coding and without handing over custody. Bitsgap has been around since 2017, connects to 16 named exchanges and has the cleanest interface of the mainstream bot platforms we track. It is also the platform we rank first overall on our best AI crypto trading bots list.

That does not mean every claim on its homepage holds up. Below we separate what is documented from what is marketing. All facts were checked on Bitsgap's official pages and Trustpilot on 21 October 2026.

What Bitsgap is, and who it is for

Bitsgap is bot software, not an exchange. You keep your funds on Binance, OKX, Kraken or another supported venue, connect them with an API key, and run bots from Bitsgap's web or mobile app. That makes it the natural alternative to Pionex for people who like grid bots but do not want their coins held by the bot provider.

It suits two groups. Beginners get templates, a demo mode with 20 bots and a free plan to learn on. Intermediates get COMBO and futures DCA bots, multi-exchange coverage and an AI Assistant that spreads capital across several bots. Advanced users who want to code their own logic will find it limiting; they should look at Freqtrade.

Bitsgap bot types, including the grid bot

Bitsgap grid bot

GRID is Bitsgap's flagship. You set a range and a number of levels; the bot buys as price falls through them and sells as it rises. It shines in sideways markets and suffers when price leaves the range. See our crypto grid trading bot guide for how to pick pairs and ranges.

DCA, DCA Futures and BTD

The DCA bot adds orders as price falls and exits at a take-profit; DCA Futures does the same with leverage. BTD (buy the dip) is a grid variant aimed at accumulating on falls. Leverage changes the risk completely: a futures DCA bot can be liquidated before it ever reaches its average-down target. Read our futures bot guide before you switch it on.

COMBO, LOOP and QFL

COMBO is a futures bot that blends DCA-style entries with grid-style exits, and it is the only bot type on the free plan. LOOP and QFL are more specialised strategies; QFL is named after the "quickfingers luc" approach of buying sharp drops below a support level. None of them involves AI. Treat them as advanced tools and run them in demo mode first.

Grid and DCA bots profit from price swings inside a range. A strong trend in either direction is where they struggle.

The Bitsgap AI Assistant: what it does and does not do

The AI Assistant is not a chatbot. You tell it your risk tolerance and the funds you want to allocate, and it "analyzes market trends and deploys a personalized portfolio of trading bots". In practice it picks pairs, bot types and parameters for you and launches several bots at once. It is available from the Basic plan; AI Portfolio Mode is Pro-only.

The FAQ mentions "machine learning capabilities" but gives no methodology: no model type, no training data, no description of how often it re-evaluates. Bitsgap also claims the assistant delivers "+20% vs manual trading" with no supporting data, no time period and no comparison group. We treat that as marketing, not evidence.

On our five-level scale that is "rules plus AI layer": the bots still follow fixed rules, and the AI decides which rules to run. That can genuinely help a beginner avoid a badly configured grid. It cannot make a grid bot profitable in a market that trends hard against it.

Bitsgap pricing

Prices from the official pricing page on 21 October 2026. Annual billing saves roughly 20%. The 7-day trial unlocks Pro features with no card.

PlanMonthlyAnnual (per mo)AI AssistantNotes
Free$0$0No3 COMBO bots on EVEDEX, 20 demo bots
Basic$29$23YesEntry paid plan
Advanced$69$55YesHigher limits
Pro$149$119Yes + Portfolio ModeFull feature set

The free plan is real but narrow: COMBO bots only, and only on EVEDEX, which few people already use. For mainstream exchanges you need Basic. At $29 a month ($348 a year), a $3,000 account must make more than 11.6% a year after trading fees just to cover the subscription. Our bot ROI calculator shows the break-even for your numbers.

Supported exchanges

The pricing page says "17 supported exchanges" and names 16: Aster, Binance, Bitfinex, Bitget, Coinbase Advanced, Crypto.com, EVEDEX, Gate.io, Gemini, HTX, Hyperliquid, Kraken, KuCoin, OKX, Poloniex and WhiteBIT. That mix of large centralised exchanges and on-chain perps venues (Hyperliquid, Aster) is wider than 3Commas (10) and close to WunderTrading (20). Remember that the exchange must also serve your country.

Security and API keys

Bitsgap's strongest point is how it treats keys. It automatically rejects API keys with withdrawal permission enabled, so even a careless setup cannot give it the power to move your coins. Most bot platforms only recommend turning withdrawals off. Bitsgap also describes 2048-bit encryption, an API lock and device fingerprinting.

The "no hacks since 2017" line is a vendor claim we cannot verify, but we found no reported breach in our research. The company entity is in Dubai, and Google Reviews links to a "Bitsgap Holding OU" with an Estonian-style name. Bitsgap is not a regulated financial firm, which is normal for bot software that does not hold funds.

Your bot is only as safe as the exchange behind it

Bitsgap never holds your coins, so the exchange you connect carries the custody risk. For savings you are not trading, pick a venue with public licences. CEX.IO has operated since 2013, is a FinCEN-registered MSB with money transmitter licences in 39 US states plus DC, and is FCA-registered in the UK. It is not on Bitsgap's exchange list, so treat it as a place to buy and hold.

Registrations checked October 2026 on the company's legal pages. Availability depends on your country; crypto is high-risk.

Bitsgap user reviews

On 21 October 2026 Bitsgap had 4.0 out of 5 from 652 Trustpilot reviews (28 in the last 12 months): 75% five-star and 13% one-star, with Trustpilot's "may be associated with high-risk investments" flag. That is one of the better scores among the bot platforms we track: 3Commas sits at 3.4 and Cryptohopper at 3.6. Two caveats apply. Trustpilot does not verify reviews, and only 28 were posted in the past year, so the score mostly reflects older experiences. Read the newest one-star reviews before you subscribe; they show the problems people are hitting now.

How to start with Bitsgap safely

01

Start in demo mode

Run a grid and a DCA bot on demo for a couple of weeks to see how they behave in real market conditions.

02

Create a trade-only key

On your exchange, create an API key with trading permission only. Bitsgap will reject it anyway if withdrawals are on.

03

Lock it down

Add the IP whitelist if available, enable 2FA, and use a sub-account funded with only the bot budget.

04

Use the Pro trial wisely

The 7-day trial is short. Test the AI Assistant with a small allocation and compare it with a bot you configure yourself.

05

Judge on drawdown, not headline profit

Check how far each bot fell before it recovered, and subtract fees and the subscription before calling it a win.

Final verdict on Bitsgap

The bottom line of this Bitsgap review: it earns its 4.2 because it gets the basics right: well-designed bots, many exchanges, a usable free tier, a real trial, and a firm rule that withdrawal-enabled keys are not accepted. It is the bot platform we would suggest to most people who want automation without coding or custody risk.

Just keep the AI in perspective. The AI Assistant is a portfolio picker with an undisclosed method, and the "+20%" and "11% average" figures are marketing. Use the bots for what they are, rule-based tools that do well in some markets and poorly in others, and size your account so the subscription does not swallow the returns.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bitsgap legit?

Bitsgap is a real software company that has operated since 2017. Its current entity is Bitsgap Software Solutions FZCO in Dubai Silicon Oasis. It holds no customer funds: it connects to your exchange account by API and automatically rejects keys that allow withdrawals. On 21 October 2026 it had 4.0 out of 5 from 652 Trustpilot reviews. Its return marketing, though, is not independently verifiable.

Is the Bitsgap grid bot profitable?

It can be in sideways markets, and it loses value when price trends out of your range. Bitsgap advertises an "11% avg 30-day Grid return", but that is a vendor figure with no published methodology, so we cannot verify it. Test your pair and range in demo mode and in our grid bot profit calculator before you commit real money.

What does the Bitsgap AI Assistant do?

It asks for your risk tolerance and budget, then deploys a portfolio of trading bots it picks based on market trends. Bitsgap mentions "machine learning capabilities" but publishes no methodology, and its "+20% vs manual trading" claim has no supporting data. It is not a chatbot. It is included from the Basic plan; AI Portfolio Mode is Pro-only.

Does Bitsgap have a free plan?

Yes. The free plan runs up to 3 COMBO bots on the EVEDEX exchange plus 20 demo bots. There is also a 7-day Pro trial that needs no card. Paid plans start at $29 a month, or $23 a month billed annually.

Can Bitsgap withdraw my funds?

Not if you connect it the way it requires. Bitsgap says it automatically rejects API keys with withdrawal permission enabled, so it can only place trades. A leaked key could still be used for bad trades, so add an IP whitelist where your exchange supports it and use a sub-account with a capped balance.

Which exchanges does Bitsgap support?

The pricing page says 17 but lists 16 by name: Aster, Binance, Bitfinex, Bitget, Coinbase Advanced, Crypto.com, EVEDEX, Gate.io, Gemini, HTX, Hyperliquid, Kraken, KuCoin, OKX, Poloniex and WhiteBIT. Check your country is supported by the exchange as well as by Bitsgap.
