Key takeaways
- Coinrule is the most direct option: one rule builder for crypto exchanges and US brokers (Alpaca, Trading 212, Webull, Public, E*Trade). Not available in the EU/EEA.
- eToro covers stocks and crypto in one regulated app with CopyTrader and the Tori AI agent, but charges 1% per crypto trade.
- TrendSpider Sidekick is the best AI analyst for stocks; it does not place trades. Kubera and Delta track both asset classes but do not trade.
- Evidence is thin: in Alpha Arena Season 1.5, LLMs trading US-stock perps finished positive in only 6 of 32 runs.
Most people looking for the best AI trading bots for stocks and crypto want one tool instead of two. That exists, but the field is small. Crypto bot platforms grew up connecting to crypto exchanges through API keys; stock brokers are regulated securities firms with their own APIs and rules. Only a few products bridge the two well.
Below we compare the multi-asset options from our research, explain what changes when AI moves from a 24/7 crypto market to a stock market with opening hours, and cover forex honestly. For crypto-only bots, see the best AI crypto trading bots.
Best AI trading bots for stocks and crypto, compared
"Trades for you" means the tool can place orders automatically. Several of the best AI tools for stock and crypto trading are analysts or trackers, which is still useful, just different.

The multi-asset tools, one by one
Coinrule: the same rules on both markets
Coinrule is an if-this-then-that bot builder. Its homepage lists 25+ exchanges, blockchains and brokers, including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, KuCoin and Hyperliquid on the crypto side, plus the US brokers Alpaca, Trading 212, Webull, Public and E*Trade. Its App Store listing describes it as automated strategies across stocks, cryptocurrencies and ETFs. The AI angle is MCP: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok can create, backtest and manage rules, with read-only or read-write access.
Limits: the free Starter plan allows 2 live rules, 1 exchange and $3,000 of monthly volume, paid tiers show a 0.02% volume fee, and the official site lists the Pro price inconsistently ($749 vs $449.99 a month). Coinrule says it does not serve EU or EEA residents because of MiCA. Our Coinrule review has the details.
eToro: one regulated app, AI on top
eToro is a multi-asset broker built around social trading. CopyTrader lets you mirror other users' portfolios, Alpha Portfolios are AI-driven Smart Portfolios launched in August 2025, and in July 2026 eToro relaunched its app as "AI-first" with Tori as a proactive agent. It holds a MiCA permit via CySEC for its European entity. The cost to watch is crypto pricing: a flat 1% per buy and per sell, plus the spread. That suits occasional investing, not a bot that trades daily. See AI copy trading platforms for how copying compares to bots.
TrendSpider Sidekick: the strongest AI analyst, equity-first
Sidekick is TrendSpider's AI "workbot". It analyses charts, fundamentals, SEC filings and earnings transcripts, builds scanners, turns ideas into rules-based strategies and backtests them, and writes custom indicators. It uses frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google depending on your add-on tier. It does not place trades. Platform plans start around $54 a month with 25 Sidekick messages included; heavier use needs a paid Sidekick add-on from $49 a month. Crypto is supported as a use case, but the exact list of exchanges and coins was not clear from TrendSpider's pages.
Minara: an agent for both, with disclosure gaps
Minara markets "Vibe Trading": describe a strategy in plain language, get a backtest, then run it on a 24/7 autopilot with trailing take-profit and stop-loss. It references crypto and stocks and runs on web, macOS and mobile, and links a SlowMist audit report. Pricing is not published and the company and funding are not disclosed on the site. Treat it as experimental and keep exposure small. More context in AI crypto trading agents.
Jesse: code-first, stocks on the roadmap
Jesse is an MIT-licensed Python framework for backtesting and research with ML and MCP agent workflows. Live trading needs a lifetime licence from $899 and currently covers crypto venues such as Binance, Bybit, Coinbase, Kraken Pro and Hyperliquid. Alpaca stocks are listed as upcoming, not live. If you code and want one framework for both, it is worth watching. Compare it with Freqtrade in open-source AI crypto trading bots.
How AI differs between stock and crypto markets
A strategy that works on bitcoin will not automatically work on Nvidia. The market structure is different, and AI tools have to cope with it.
| Factor | Crypto | Stocks |
|---|---|---|
| Trading hours | 24/7, including weekends | Exchange sessions; gaps at the open |
| Volatility | High; 10% days are not rare | Lower on large caps, spikes on earnings |
| Data an AI can use | Order books, funding, on-chain flows, social | Filings, earnings, analyst data, news |
| Venue | Many exchanges, prices differ slightly | Brokers routing to regulated exchanges |
| Who regulates the platform | Often nobody (bot software) | Licensed brokers, investor protection |
| Typical bot connection | Exchange API key, trade-only | Broker API or OAuth |
Three practical consequences. First, hours: a crypto grid bot works through the night; a stock bot sits idle and then meets an opening gap that can jump straight past its orders. Second, data: language models are good at reading filings and earnings calls, which gives AI a clearer job in stocks, while crypto AI leans on order flow, funding and on-chain data (see on-chain AI analytics). Third, regulation: a stock broker is a licensed firm with obligations to you; most crypto bot platforms are software vendors with terms of service.
Crypto side of a multi-asset portfolio
If your stocks already sit with a regulated broker, it makes sense to hold crypto with similar standards. CEX.IO has operated since 2013, is a FinCEN-registered MSB with money transmitter licences listed for 39 US states plus DC, and is FCA-registered in the UK. It has no AI tools of its own, so pair it with the analysis tools on this page.
Registrations checked October 2026 on the company's legal pages. Availability depends on your country; crypto is high-risk.

Evidence: how did AI do trading stocks?
The most transparent public test is Alpha Arena by the research lab Nof1. Season 1.5 gave AI models real money to trade US-equity perpetuals (TSLA, NDX, NVDA, MSFT, AMZN, GOOGL, PLTR) across four competition modes. It ended on 3 December 2025.
Eight models took part, including GPT-5.1, Gemini-3-Pro, Claude-Sonnet-4.5 and DeepSeek-Chat-V3.1. The best single run returned +34.59%. Nof1's own summary is that current LLMs are "shockingly bad" at navigating markets. A two-week contest is a tiny sample, but it is a better reality check than any vendor's backtest. Full tables are on our Alpha Arena results page.
What about forex?
Searches for the best AI trading bots for stocks, crypto and forex usually end in MetaTrader. Forex automation lives mainly in MT4 and MT5 expert advisors, run through forex or CFD brokers. None of the crypto bot platforms in our research lists forex, and "crypto" on MetaTrader typically means a CFD on the price rather than coins you own.
The overlap between "AI", "forex" and "crypto" in one product is also where scams cluster. The UK FCA lists "Immediate Edge" as an unauthorised firm with 11 associated domains, and "Quantum AI" as another. Both are typical of sites promising automated AI profits across every market.
Tracking stocks and crypto in one place
If you want AI help across both without automating trades, a portfolio tracker is the safer starting point.
- Kubera ($250 a year for Essentials) tracks stocks, crypto, DeFi and real assets, and connects to Claude, ChatGPT and Grok so you can question your portfolio and sync accounts through your assistant.
- Delta, owned by eToro, is free for up to 10 assets, with PRO at $53.88 a year. Delta AI explains asset moves, though the depth is limited.
Both are read-only: they see balances, not trading permissions. Compare them with crypto-first trackers in our AI crypto portfolio trackers guide.
A sensible multi-asset setup
You do not need one tool for everything. Even the best AI trading bots for stocks and crypto work better as one part of a setup than as the whole of it. A split setup is often safer and cheaper.
Keep each asset with a regulated home
Stocks at a licensed broker, crypto on an exchange with checkable registrations. Automation connects to them; it should not replace them.
Use AI for research across both
TrendSpider Sidekick for equities, crypto analytics for on-chain and sentiment, a general model for summaries. See which AI model fits.
Automate one market first
Crypto bots are more mature and run 24/7. Get one strategy working before adding a stock rule in Coinrule.
Limit permissions everywhere
Trade-only crypto API keys, no withdrawal rights, and read-only access for trackers and AI assistants unless you deliberately grant more.
Measure net of costs
eToro's 1% crypto fee, Coinrule's volume fee and subscriptions all count. The bot ROI calculator shows the break-even.
Frequently asked questions
Is there one AI trading bot for both stocks and crypto?
Yes, a few. Coinrule runs the same rule builder on crypto exchanges and US stock brokers such as Alpaca, Trading 212, Webull, Public and E*Trade. eToro covers both inside one regulated app, with CopyTrader and its Tori AI agent. Minara's agent claims both too, but discloses little about the company.
Which AI tool is best for stock and crypto analysis?
TrendSpider's Sidekick AI is the strongest analysis layer we found for stocks: it reads charts, SEC filings and earnings transcripts, builds scanners and backtests rules. It does not place trades and is equity-first. For crypto-specific data, see our AI analytics tools.
Do AI trading bots work better on stocks or crypto?
There is no reliable evidence either way. Crypto trades 24/7 with more volatility, which gives bots more opportunities and more ways to lose. Stocks have richer fundamental data but trading hours and stricter rules. In Alpha Arena Season 1.5, AI models trading US-stock perpetuals mostly lost: only 6 of 32 runs ended positive.
Can I use an AI bot for forex too?
Forex automation mostly runs on MetaTrader (MT4/MT5) expert advisors with regulated forex or CFD brokers, a separate world from the crypto bot platforms on this page. None of the crypto bot platforms we track lists forex. Be very wary of any "AI bot" selling all three markets with fixed returns.
Is AI stock trading regulated differently from crypto?
Yes. Stock brokers are licensed securities firms with investor protection schemes in many countries, while crypto bot platforms are usually unregulated software providers. That changes your recourse if something goes wrong. See is AI crypto trading legal and safe.
Can ChatGPT or Claude trade stocks and crypto for me?
Not by themselves. They can connect to platforms through MCP: Coinrule lets ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok create and manage rules, and some brokers and exchanges now offer agent access with limits. Keep a human approval step. Our ChatGPT trading guide shows safe workflows.
