This directory exists because the phrase "AI crypto tools" now covers everything from a simple rule-based grid bot to an agent that can sign transactions on its own. Lumping them together makes comparison useless. So we split the market into nine categories, label how real the AI is in each product, and link every card to the official site and, where we have one, our full review.
Start with the job, not the brand. Ask yourself what you want the tool to do: place trades for you, tell you what is happening on-chain, read the mood on social media, or simply answer questions. Then narrow the list in four moves.
The search box matches names and the text on each card, so you can type a use case such as "TradingView", "MCP" or "memecoin" as well as a product name. Red flags on a card, such as a custody warning or a regional restriction, are worth reading before you click through.
Each category answers a different question. Bots and agents act; analytics tools inform; exchanges hold your money. We keep them separate so a sentiment dashboard is never ranked against a trading bot.
| Category | Tools | What it is for | Go deeper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trading bots | 11 | Hosted platforms that run grid, DCA, signal or rule bots on your exchange account through an API key. Most are rule-based with an AI helper on top. Start here if you want a strategy to run while you sleep. | AI trading bots by use case |
| Open source | 3 | Freqtrade, Jesse and Hummingbot. Free code you run on your own machine or server, so your keys never leave your control. This is also where the only peer-reviewed machine learning in the directory lives. | open-source AI trading bots |
| AI agents | 7 | Language-model agents that research and then act: swap tokens, open positions or manage a wallet from a chat. Powerful and the least predictable category here. | AI crypto trading agents |
| Sentiment | 4 | Tools that score what people say about a coin on X, Reddit, news and forums. Useful for timing narratives, easy to over-trust when bots inflate the chatter. | AI sentiment analysis tools |
| On-chain analytics | 5 | Wallet labels, exchange flows and holder maps, increasingly with AI that writes the query or summarises the event for you. | on-chain AI analytics |
| Signals & research | 4 | Charting, scanners, research desks and signal services. The AI here mostly analyses and explains; it does not place your trades. | AI trading signals |
| Portfolio trackers | 4 | Dashboards that pull every wallet and exchange into one view, now with assistants that answer questions about your own holdings. | AI portfolio trackers |
| AI models | 6 | General models such as ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Perplexity, Gemini and DeepSeek. Strong research assistants, no reliable live prices of their own. | which AI model is best for crypto |
| Exchanges with AI | 11 | Exchanges that ship assistants, built-in bots or agent APIs. Here licences, custody and incident history matter as much as the AI. | crypto exchanges with AI tools |
Two categories deserve a note. "AI models" are general chat assistants, not crypto products, but they sit in many traders' daily workflow, so leaving them out would be odd. And "Exchanges with AI" includes one exchange with no AI features at all, CEX.IO, labelled honestly as rule-based. It is listed because a tool stack still needs a regulated place to buy and hold coins.
Almost every product in crypto now says "AI" somewhere on its homepage. Our labels describe what the software actually does, based on the vendor's own documentation. When a vendor does not explain its method, we pick the lower label and say so on the card.
Trains or retrains machine-learning models on market data. Models are trained on market data and retrained as conditions change. You can usually see which algorithms are used. In this directory that mostly means FreqAI.
1 tools in the directory
An LLM agent that can plan and execute actions. A language model plans steps and executes them: it reads data, decides, then places an order or signs a transaction. Ask what limits you can set before it acts.
17 tools in the directory
A chat assistant for research, explanations or strategy drafting. A chat assistant that explains, summarises or drafts. It helps you think but does not trade for you, and it can be confidently wrong about numbers.
21 tools in the directory
Rule-based bots with an AI helper on top (assistant, optimiser or MCP). A classic rule bot with an AI helper attached, such as a strategy suggester, an optimiser or an MCP connector so Claude or ChatGPT can manage it. The trading logic is still rules.
10 tools in the directory
Automation without machine learning, often marketed as AI. Fixed-rule automation with no learning. Often marketed as AI anyway. That is not a criticism of the tool, just an honest description of it.

Data, signal, execution and risk layers, and how to spot AI-washing on a sales page.
Read the guide →A lower label is not a lower grade. A rule-based grid bot does exactly what you tell it, which makes it easier to audit than an agent whose next decision you cannot predict. The label simply stops you paying an "AI" price for plain automation, and helps you notice when a tool's risk profile is closer to a black box than a calculator.
The number in the top corner of a card is our editorial score out of 5. Only tools with a full review get one, which right now is 12 of the 55. We would rather show no score than invent one from a pricing page. Each score is a weighted average of five criteria:
Nobody pays to be listed, scored or moved up. The full rules, including what lowers a score and how we treat vendor claims that cannot be checked, are on the how we review page. Scores also do not compare across categories: a 4.1 for a sentiment platform and a 4.1 for a trading bot mean "strong for its type", not "equally good at the same job".
The tools do the analysis. Your coins need a licensed home.
Most tools in this directory either connect to an exchange or hold no funds at all. If you are choosing where to buy and keep crypto, CEX.IO has operated since 2013 and lists its registrations publicly: FinCEN MSB status with money transmitter licences in 39 US states plus DC, and FCA registration in the UK.
Registrations checked October 2026 on the company's legal pages. Availability depends on your country; crypto is high-risk.
Every price, feature and coverage figure in the directory was checked against the vendor's official pages in October 2026, and the date is shown under the filters. Prices are list prices on monthly billing unless the card says "annual". Crypto tools change fast: during 2026 alone, 3Commas shut down its v1 platform, Token Metrics pivoted away from its public AI ratings, and Messari became part of Blockworks. When something like that happens we update the card and, where needed, add a warning flag.
Between scheduled reviews we re-check a tool whenever a vendor announces a change, a regulator publishes something relevant, or a reader writes in. If a fact on a card looks wrong to you, email contacts@ai-crypto.exchange with a link to the source. Corrections are free and we do not need to be asked twice.
If you would rather start from a shortlist than a filter, these are the routes most readers take. Each links to a page that compares the best AI tools for crypto trading within one job, with prices, risks and our reasoning.
Our best AI crypto trading bots ranking is the main starting point. If cost matters, the free AI trading bots page lists what each free plan really includes, and bots for beginners covers the safest first setups. Strategy-specific pages compare grid trading bots and DCA bots.
The AI crypto analytics hub covers sentiment, signals, on-chain intelligence and portfolio trackers. If you trade on narratives, start with sentiment analysis tools; if you follow whales and exchange flows, go to on-chain AI analytics.
AI crypto trading agents explains which agents can trade, what limits they support and why the live evidence is sobering. The Alpha Arena results show how leading models fared with real money. To copy AI-driven accounts instead, see AI copy trading platforms.
New to all of this? Our guide on how to use AI for crypto trading walks through a sensible workflow, from research prompts to small, capped live tests.
It depends on the job. For automated strategies most people do well with a hosted bot such as Bitsgap or the free bots on Pionex. For research, Nansen AI covers on-chain data and LunarCrush covers social sentiment. Developers who want genuine machine learning should look at Freqtrade with FreqAI. Filter the directory by category to compare like with like.
Many are not, or only partly. That is why every tool in this directory carries one of five labels, from "Real ML" to "Rule-based". Most trading bots are rule-based automation with an AI assistant attached. That can still be useful, but you should not pay a premium for an "AI" that does not learn anything. Use the AI-type filter to see only the tools that match what you want.
Yes. 43 of the 55 tools listed have a free tier, a free app or free open-source code. Tick "Free tier only" in the directory to see them. Free plans usually limit the number of bots, data history or AI queries, so read the limits on the official pricing page before you rely on one.
Fully reviewed tools get an editorial score out of 5, weighted across five criteria: real AI (25%), security (25%), pricing transparency (20%), track record (15%) and usability (15%). Tools without a full review show no score rather than a guessed one. The full rules, including how we handle vendor claims we cannot verify, are on our methodology page.
Only with limits. Create keys with trading permission only and withdrawals disabled, add an IP whitelist where the exchange supports it, and fund a sub-account with just what the tool needs. Some platforms, such as Bitsgap, refuse keys that allow withdrawals. Open-source and self-hosted tools keep keys on your own machine, which removes one party from the chain.
Every listing was checked against official pages in October 2026. We re-check prices and features whenever a vendor announces a change or a reader reports one, and review the whole list on a regular cycle. If you spot something out of date, email us and we will look at it.
